Thyristor speed controllers enable manual speed control of fans with 230V/50Hz single-phase motors.
When installed with the enclosed surface-mounted housing, the protection class of the control unit is IP 54. When flush-mounted without the surface-mounted housing, the protection class is IP 44. Several motors can be connected in parallel as long as the total current does not exceed the rated current of the controller. When selecting a suitable control unit, the starting currents of the fans must be taken into account. Fans that are operated with this control unit must have built-in overheating protection and be suitable for operation with a thyristor controller.
