The insulating conduit consists of a glass fibre reinforced aluminium laminate outer jacket with a 25 mm insulating layer of insulating wool. The insulating hose is equipped with a barrier layer. The barrier layer simplifies installation and prevents direct contact with the insulating wool. Thermal insulation is used to prevent condensation and reduce heat and cold loss. The diameter specification refers to the inner diameter of the insulating hose. A 100 mm spiral duct / aluminium flex duct can be insulated with a DIS100. In practice, however, it is much easier to insulate the pipe if you select the insulating hose one size larger. ASSEMBLY The insulating hose is simply pulled over an existing pipe (e.g. spiral duct). This provides the pipe with diffusion-tight protection against moisture and thermal influences.
