To prevent condensation on the outside of the pipework, the duct must be encased in insulation. An insulation thickness of approx. 15 mm may be sufficient here.
Supply and return air ducting through cold rooms
Here, the ducts must be protected against heat loss and condensation must be prevented from forming on the inside of the exhaust air duct. The insulation thickness depends on the ambient temperature. If the temperature is outside ( uninsulated loft), an insulation thickness of 50 mm should be selected. In unheated rooms ( unheated cellar), the insulation thickness of 25 mm can be used.
